HULL OF LADY ROBERTS SOLD.

WELLINGTON, September 8. j l'V. is reported, that the hull of the old and well-known Government steamer Ludy Roberts was sold at Apia, Samoa, recently for £2O os to Mr J. Hellesoe. Except for tho two main engines, the vessel had been completely stripped. The deck houses, cabin fittings, and miscellaneous gear were taken ashore and sold separately, favourable prices being realised. The Lady Roberts and her sister ship, the Jame Seddon, were built in L9Ol by Fleming and Ferguson, Limited. Paisley, Scotland, for the New Zealand Government, and were designed for use in connexion with harbour defenro works. Tho vessels wero named after the wife of Earl Roberts and the wife of the Rt. Hon. Jt. J. s soddon. , , .
