CHRISTCHURCH RAILWAY YARDS.—The railway marshalling yards at Middleton were closed at midnight on Saturday, and the work of making up the trains and general shunting was started in the Christchurch yards yesterday. A view of the yards, looking east from the Madras street footbridge.
WARNING LIGHTS FOR ROAD TRAFFIC—These lanterns are used as warning lights to traffic at night by the paving contractors at present engaged in the bitumen sealing of Riccar~ ton road. Each day this man cleans, trims the wicks, and fills the lanterns ivitH oil.
