Though Commissioner for British Trade hx New Zealand, Mr L. A. Paish is often called upon to remind New Zealanders of the products of their own country. He cited a case yesterday of a man who did not know that matches were made in this country; all he had ever used came from Belgium. Mr Paish went to some pains to buy a carton of the local product for the man. He hoped his action had been successful i. procuring another consumer for New Zealand made. This, said Mr Paish, was only one of many such examples he had come across during his work in New Zealand. Though a representative of British trade interests, he would use the local product himself wherever it gave good service.
