ANGLICAN CLUB. The Anglican Club held its first annual cross-Country championships on Saturday afternoon, over a coarse of about five and a half miles, darting from St. Barnabas'a schoolroom, Clyde road. The trail led north along Clyde road, across paddocka and ploughed fields to Ashby's shingle-pita, through Barnsido, Russlcy, and home down Burnside road. The officials were:—Starter and handicippor, Mr P. Phipps; timekeeper, Rev. P. B. Redgrave. From the start Broadway, Holmes* Fuller, and Oarew went ahead. The first three increased their lead over the first two miles, Broadway and Holmes setting the pace. Here Carow overtook tho leaders, and Fuller dropped behind, with the remainder in a bunch farther back. These relative po«tiOns were maintained until about a mile from the finishing post, where Broadway shot ahead to win comfortably. Holmes tried to keep with him, but tho pace was too hot and he dropped back to lead Carow in by about sixty yards. The places and times were ts follows: G. Broadway (46min 20sec) .. .. G. Williams (3min) .. ..3 As this run was the last of the season, as far as the Anglican Club is concerned, It was followed by an end-of-season meeting, presided over by the club captain, Mr P. Phipps. Tho results of the sealed handicap were announced, and also tho fact that a challenge shell-case, presented by the captain for tho most improved runner during the season, had been won by h. G. Williams. Votes of thanks were passed to the club captain and the secretary (Mr E. H. Oarew), both of whom responded, and to the committee for their work during the past season. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The ChristchUrch Harrier Club's run on Saturday was held from the residence of Mr and Mrs 11. L. Kennett, Dyer's Pass road. Cashmere, when there was an attendance of about twenty. Tho trail layers were E. H. Shirley and G. L. Austin, who set a good course of about six miles, which included hill work, toad work, and excellent running over the paddocks of Spreydon. Nelson .. .. 5 Mr and Mrs Kennett later entertained the runners at a very enjoyable afternoon tea, thanks being returned on the club's behalf by Mr K. A. Savers. The club captain, Mr P. H. Cookson, extended the club's congratulations to Mr Sayers on his recent engagement. Next Saturday's run will be from 212 Kilmore street, when tho annual presentation of prizes will take place. Prior to the run a photo graph will be taken of the mombers of tho club at the Coronation Studio. The annual combined clubs' church parade is to be held at tho Durham street Mothodist Church on Sunday morning next.
