SMITH—KING. The marriage of Iris, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. King, of Sydenham, and Mr Herbert. Frederick Smith, of Linwood, was solemnised at Si David's Church, Sydenham*.. recently, the Rev. J. D. Webster officiating and Mr Thrower acting as organist. . The bride, who.was escorted by her father, wore a white radium lace frock vith an over-bodice of white crepe de chine. Her embroidered veil of white net was worn in mop cap style with a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pink and ; white" hot-' house flowers and maidenhair fern. • She was attended by her two cousins. Miss Etetty Cockle, of New Brighton, the chief bridesmaid, wore an anklelength frock of cyclamen crepe de chine and a bandeau of tulle to match her frock, finished with a wreath of' silver leaves. The other bridesmaid, Miss K. Wakefield, of Sydenham, wore a powder blue crepe de chine frock and head-dress to match. The wedding was quietly solemnised at St. Mary's Church, Titnaru, by the Rev. W. H. Monaghan of Marion Elizabeth, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs C. At St. Patrick's Church, Fairlie, the marriage was celebrated of. Alice, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. N- Annett, "Airies," Fairlie, and Edward Hanrahan, of Wanganui, eldest Eon of Mr and Mrs E. Hawaiian,.'of Christchurch. Suspended over the bridal croup was a bell composed of spring blooms and arum lilies, freesias, and white narcissi were on the altar, witn large clusters of lilies and tree-ferns decorating the sanctuary. Over this was worn a ! long coat of black sultan, and her hat was of black Bangkok straw, appliqued with flowers in gold and ecru shades. She earned a posy of yellow and mauve parisies. MrS Hanrahan. mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart black satin frock patterned in flame shades, and black -nat, with two-tone pleated ribbon of black and flame Her bouquet was of japonica. Later in the day. when Mr and Mrs E. Hanrahan left for their wedding tour, the bride was wearing an attractive two-piece woven suit of wild koneyshade, banded in deep brown and green, and a handsome musquash fur coat.
