PIGEON SHOOTING.

NORTH CANTERBURY GUN CLUB. The North Canterbury Gun Club's live pigeon champiorwhip was decided on Saturday afternoon under very unpleasant weather conditions, south-west squalls, with heavy showers ot rain, occurring at intervale, A gold medal, value £5 Si. was given by .the club as a first priso. There wes a second prlao of a trophy value £3 3s, given by toa secretary of tho club, and a third trophy, value £1 10s, givon by Mr R. J. Taylor, iun. There were sixteen competitors, of whom thirteen subßorlbed to an optional sweep o! 10s. A, N. Turner, R. S. Taylor, L. A. Shand, and P. Truscott scored the possible and divided the sweep. In the shoot-off for the championship, flrsj miss out. Turner missed his second bird and Shand his third. Taylor end Truscott shot on to the ninth round, and the latter, missiny his bird, left Taylor the winner. Tho president of the clnb, Mr 3.
