"The Cuckoos" season -will be continued all next woek at Crystal. Palace Theatre. This, indeed! is not. ot all surprising, for it is ■without doubt the fanniost and most cheerfully irresponsible comedy ever shown in the City.. "The Cuckoos" J i3 a picture which is of the mußica) comedy persuasion: it has a delightfully droll plot, some remarkable ballets (the "Dancing the Devil Away" ballet in a wonderful effort),..tuneful and humorous songs; but most of all it has a lot of irrelevant and extraneous scenes which are frankly inserted so that Messrs-Wheeler and Woolsey may .have a further oieuse to convulso the crowds with their amazing foolery. As a pair of American fortonp-tellerg at large in Mexico, pursued by gypsies, bandits, revolutionary soldiers and, of course, a vast number of coy women, they have plenty of opportunities, to show., the world just how funny they can be. While Wheeler and Woolsey dominate the Bhow, the other players are not rudely thrust into the background. Jobyna Howland, a six-foot odd actress from the New York stage, is. a force to be - reckoned with; and Ivan Lebedeff, Hugh Trevor, Mitchell Lewis; Dorothy Lee, and June Clyde are not quite overshadowed even by Wheeler and Woolsey.
