MEETING OF BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Board of the Now Zealand Trotting Association was held yesterday. Present: Messrs JR. A. Armstrong, J. R. McKenzie, 'fc», W. Kelly, H. C. Harley, and W. Hay ward. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs H. W. ilncinnghara, J. IJ. Thomson, and C». Mcivuiian. j- n the absence of Mr J. H. This being the first meeting of the Board after the annual meeting t e election of officers for the ensuing year was carried through, and remitted as President, Mr J. H. vice-president, Mr H. Association members on Stipendiary Stewards' Committers —Tho president (ex-offieio) and tho vice-president. Auditor—Mr R. L. Hicks. . The Victorian Trotting and Racing Association advised that the Melbourne Trotting Club had disqualified A. W. Simpson for six months for supplyinji incorrect performances, ihe followinc horses owned by Simpson were also automatically disqualified i-~ Globe Princess, Main Voyage, and Sn ivvshoe. The disqualification was endorsed. As) instructed at a previous meeting of the Board, tho stipendiary stewards, Mr F. J. Beer, J. Common, and B. I. Reid, reported on a complaint mado by the North Island Owners' and Breeders' Association concerning faulty barriers, and the danger of crossings on various courses. _ _ The consensus of opinion was that there were few bad Barriers in the North Island, and that few instances of accidents at crossings had occurred. It was decided to writo to the North Island Ownors* and Breeders' Association thanking them for having drawn the attention of the Board to the matter, and stating that tho Board had noted tho complaint. . At a previous meetwer of the Board a renort, was recoivod from tho Amberley Racing Club statinz that it had fined D, P. Mahony £5 for a breach of the rules concerning tho nomination of Lydia Pointer and . Golden Morn, and for not notifying the registration of a joint interest. Iho Board suggested to the club that tho fine shoulJ ho remitted, and that a fine should be imposed upon A. Simmons for a breach of the rule, and further enquiry should be mado. The Amberlov Club said that so far as it was concerned the raattor was closed. It was decided to write to tho Amberley Club again, suggesting that it should reopon tho case. Tho Waiau Racing Club asked whether the new rule, 105 A, dealing with tho limits of races, applied to nontotalisator clubs. If it did it was plain that a club liko Waiau would receive no nominations. It was decided to stato that the Board's interpretation was that the new rule was not intended to apply to nontotalisator clubs. It was also decided to place a note in the suggestion book that tho rujo bo made perfectly clear a>t the next annual meeting of delegates to conference. It was decided to reply m the same terms to tho Omarama Racing Club. " ... The deaths of tho following horses were reported:—Alger ine, Bellis, Frontier, Havana, Neatta, Pro Rata, Joy Bells.
