YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS.

There was a good volume of business on call yesterday, banks and brewery tharcs attracting Ihe bulk of the turnover. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, included:— £IOOO Booth, Macdonald 5J per cent. 1932.

35 Commercial Bank of Sydney. 40 National Bank of Australasia (£5 paid).

50 Bank of New Zealand. 100 United Building Society. 150' New Zealand Refrigerating (10s paid). 400 Christchurch Gas. 500 New Zealand Breweries. 350 British Tobacco (cum dir).

A parcel of Booth, Macdonald 6J per cent.- 1932 debentures changed hands at £69, and there were further buyers at £6B, no sellers. Commercial Bank of Sydney shares dropped to £l9 10s, £l9 9s, ■ and £l9 7s, and there were further sellers at £l9 Bs, buyers at £l9 5s 6d. National Bank of Australasia £o paid shares realised £6 las Gd, and more were offered at £6 15s, buyers at £fi 12s 6d—the fully paid shares weakened to £l3 8s 6d sellers, £l3 6s buyers. Bank of New' Zealand shares scored n rise of 6d, with business at 56s 9d, buyers staying Ln at that price, sellers ;it G6s lid. United Building Society shares hardened to ]os 3d, and there were further buyers at that figure, sellers at 16s Bd. Goldsbrough, Morts were oasier, with sellers at 22s Bd, buyers at 22s 4d. Buyers of P. and O. deferred slock raised their bids to 43s 3d. without attracting sellers. New Zealand Refrigerating 10s paid shares were fractionally weaker at 4s, closing quotations 3s 9d buyers. 4s sellers. Christchurch Gas shares recovered to dealings at 24s 3d. market closing 24s '2d buyers, 24s od sellers. New Zealand Breweries shares were firmor, with dealings at 48s 9d and 495. Closing quotations 4Ss 8d buyers, 49s sellers.

Sellers of Tooths Brewery shares reduced their limits to 23s 9d, buyers at 23s 7d. British Tobacco shares changed hands at 32s 4d and 32s 6d. market closing 3'2s 4d sellers. 32s 3d l>uvers Colonial Sugars were weaker, with sellers at £32. buyers at £3l. Electrolytic Zinc preference shares, ex dividend, were quoted 20s buyers, 20s l Jd sellers. Quotations for other stocks showed little variation.
