MUSIC WEEK.
* MAKING GOOD THE DEFICIT. Unless subscriptions are forthcoming to lessen the loss of over £IOO incurred bv Music Week in Christ hurch. some thirty guarantors will be called upon to make good this deficit. Already some country people, who derived much enjoyment from listening in to the concerts provided, have shown their appreciation by sending in small subscriptions. These have come from as far away as Rakaia, and the committee responsible for the organisation of Music Week hopes that other country people may subscribe, for there were hundreds who listened in - It is not expected that the guarantors will be relieved of responsibility altogether, but the committee is anxious that thev should not have to pav more than £] or 30s. inetend £3 each. Music Week in Nelson, Paimerston North, and Auckland was a financial success. In Wellington there was a deficit, but this was changed to a small credit by public subscription.
