CIVIC TALKIES.
CHILDREN'S MATINEES. Special . children's matinees are beitiK screened at the Civic Theatre this week. Included in thb programme are a Mickey House cartoon, "Hot Dog," a canine comedy, and Charlie Chaplin, the world's greatest comedian, in "The Circns." The success attending these matinees has led the management, to extend the same programme to the afternoon sessions as well as the morning. In the evening only will be screened I 'The Case of Sergeant Grischa." This is a magnificent picture directed against the ruthless machinery of German Army discipline. It is taken behind the lines, in a Gorman prison camp in Poland, and contains not a single battle scene. . The photography is excellent, and it is doubtful whether better and clearer speaking has been heard in the City since talkies became the -vogue "The- Case of Sergeant Grischa" will be screened only in the evenings, and will conclude on Saturday next. , Plans are at The Bristol. ■ .
