Rain prevented any work being done on th# waterfront yesterday morning, and .work during the afternoon was interrupted by frequent showers 'Shipping in port suffered considerable delay. The Holmdnle, which was dela£pd here yesterday by rein, will complete loading to-day for Wellington and Wanganui. The Calm' is expected to-day' from Welliogton, atid sails this afternoon for Blnff, Dunedin. and Timaru. She is due back here on Thursday, and will load for Wellington *and Wanganui. The Kuku loads hero to-day for Nelson and Motueku. The Kaimnnawa is now expected here tomorrow front. Dunedin to discharge coal. It is hoped to dispatch the Waikawa today for Dunedin and Bluff to complete discharge of her Los Angeles cargo. The tanker • Balaclava •arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Wellington to complete discharge of her cargo of motor-spirit and kerosene. She l is to sail to-day for Balik Papan. , The Kamona is an expected arrival to-mor-row from Westftort with a full cargo of coal. The Foxton is due from Foxton to-morrow and will load for that port. The Totara should arrive at Lyttelton tomorrow from New Plymouth. She loads for New Plymouth and sails via Wellington. The lonic is due here on Sunday from Timaru for further loading. • From this port she goes to New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Wellington,, and is to sail finally from Wellington on September 24th for Southampton and London, .via Panama. The Maheno discharged Melbourne cargo here yesterday, and after loading, sailed for Wellington. Bluff, and Melbourne. The Wingatui is due here on Tuesday from the south to load for Auckland. The Opihi should be here on Tuesday from Timaru to load for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Tees is to load' at Lyttelton about Wednesday next for the Chatham Islands. The Gale is due on Sunday from Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru, and will load on Monday for Wellington, Picton, and WanganUThe Storm'is an expected arrival on Wednesday from Timaru. The Waipiata is due on Tuesday lrom Auckland and Wellington, and is to sail the same day for Dunedin and Bluff. The Port Gisborne is to sail from London to-morrow for London, via Panama. The Somerset is due at Wellington to-day from Auckland to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. She is due at Lyttelton about next Friday. The Canadian Transporter is due at Auckland to-morrow from Montreal. She sails on Tuesday for Wellington, and is due at Lyttelton on September 13th. She is to sail on the 16th for .Timaru and Dunedin. The Fernwood left New Orleans on August 14th for..Auckland. Napier, Wellington, Lyt--telton, Dunedin, Wanganui, and Australia. She is due at Auckland about September 20th.
