LAWN TENNIS.
NORTH LINWOOD CLUB MEETING Mr H. A. Gilbert presided at the annual meeting of the North Linwood Tennis Club, held on Wednesday evening. A large num. ber of members attended. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The annual report stated that membership had increased. The courts had been top-dressed and made ready tor the I new season. The cup winners were: —Ladies singles, Miss Alice Keighley; runner-up, Miss M. Robertson; men's singles, Mr F. Gundry; runner-up, Mr T. Hoy; combined doubles, MiBS E. Ellis and Mr F. Gundry; up, Miss E. Green and Mr . J. Williamson. Several Yankee tournaments and games with other clubs were played in the year. This year B and C teams will be entered in the suburban competition. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £l9 5s 7d. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr H. Pearce; vice-presidents, Messrs H. A. Gilbert, W. Kerr, F. Hughes. F. King. G, Phillips, W. W. Bateman, T. A. Cloudesley, M. O'Donoghue, the Rev. H. Nelson Wright and Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.; club captain, Mr H. Smart; vice-captain, Mr H. Hughes; secretary, Mr G. S. Ellis; treasurer, Mrs O'Donoghue, Mr H. Hughes, and Mr Smart, to Sports Protection Association Mr Smart; delegates to C.L.T.A., Messrs Smart and H. Hughes; Selection Committee, Mrs O'Doogohue, Mr H. Hughes, and Mr Smart. A Management Committee of eight was elected. A vote of sympathy was passed- with the relatives of Mrs Harold Davies. It was decided to ' start the season on October 4th. Another Cup tag been promised for elub Way. v
