GUN CLUB.
MEETING AT METHVEN. At a meeting of the committee of tho Methvcn Gun Club, there wore present: Messrs G. A. Franks (president), W. J. Cooksley, E. F. Ward, Cf. C. Winn, S. H. Anderson, A. McLeod, and T. S. Harrison. Mr Franl;a reported that he had received a trophy from Messrs Ashby, Bergb and Co., Christchurch.—This was received with thnnJcs. It was decided to hold an extra Bhoot on September 13th and to include the Tisdall cup and Ashby Bergh trophy in the programme Mr S. G. Holmes (president Methveu Trotting Club) offered a gold medal for the Ashbuvton county clay bird championship. Tho offer was accepted with thanks. In counexion with the Hambrook cup, it •wa9 decided to make thia a match of 11 bircU, off handicap marks. The county and club championships, and <he Hambrook cup competition were fixed for Saturday, September -27 th.
