It is further pointed out that the Association notified tho Canterbury Rugby Union that the case of infringement was deliberate, since a prominent Linwood Football" Club member had waited on the secretary of the Association on the matter, and had then stated that the club was going to play the member despite the notices received from the Canterbury Rugby Union and tho Association. . The Association contends that in the face of the foregoing fasts the Ltawood Club i« fortunate In not having been tusponded__from football because of its action, tho Union executive having been .content to accept statements made by the club in extenuation of ita action. These statements wore refuted by both the Association and the Linwood Cricket Club, who poßted the defaulter in question. . ' , , "The wisdom of the Associations action can now be left to the annual meeting of delegates, to be held shortly/' concludes tho statement. ■
