DOMINION TOURNAMENT. (rniss associatio* rlzobak.) HASTINGS', September >. The New Zealand basketball tournament was concluded at Ebbett Park to-day. Results:— Consolation Matches. Taranaki beat Manawatu 11-9. Wairarapa beat Marlborough 14-8. Poverty Bay beat South Canterbury 13-7. Hawke's Bay beat Canterbury 24-17. Semi-finals. Auckland beat Otago 22-13. Wellington beat Southland 15-7. The losers and winners played eff, Otago beating Southland 16-13, and Auckland beating Wellington 18-10. „ , , „ Auckland retain the New Zealand Cap, and Wellington the Annie Brown Cup. The North and South Island match resulted in a win for the North by 26 goals to 15. The cups were presented to the winning teams by the Mayor, Mr G. F. Roach. Between 500 and 600 people watched the finals, and great excitement prevailed. The executive say that financially • and otherwise thie tournament ia the most successful yet held.
