CIVIC TALKIES.

CHILDREN'S MATINEES.

Included in the special children's matinee programme at the Civic Theatre are a Mickey Mouse cartoon, "Hot Dog," » canine comedy, and Charlie Chaplin, the world's greatest comedian, in "The Circus." The success attending these matinees has led the management to extend the same programme to the afternoon sessions as well as the mofnlng. In the evening only will be screened "The Case of Sergeant Grischa." This is a magnificent picture directed against the ruthless machinery of German Army discipline. It is taken behind the lines, in a German prison camp in Poland, and contains not a single battle scene. The photography is excellent, and it is doubtful whether better and clearer speaking has been heard in the City since talkies became the vogue. "The Case of Sergeant Grischa will be screened oniy in the evenings, and will conclude on Saturday next. Plans are at The Bristol.
