EVERYBODY'S THEATRE.
Material for humour is olway3 provided by the newly-rich. The stragglings of a parvenu family form the theme of ' 1 High_ Society Blues" at Everybody's Theatre this week, and they furnish laughtor of every concoivablo kind. "DARKENED ROOMS." The first of Sir Philip Gibbs's novels to be transcribed to the talking screen is "Darkened Rooms," on© of the popular author's more recent books, and one which features a very fine theme. This picture opens a season at Everybody's Theatre next week. Evelyn Brent has the leading role, witb Neil Hamilton, David Newell, and Doris Hill in support. The story, a most unusual one in every way, is told in a series of remarkably dramatic scenes, wherein photography plays an important part. The story concerns an ex-officer an<l h cancer who, victims of post-war England, decide to batten on fashionable society as spiritualistic me ° ( " iums, staging the most remarkable ' fakes for their credulous clients. The dancer, after the inexplicable way of women, decides against their mode of living, and, after failing to persuade her companion to desert his trickery, she delves into the genuinely occult herself and succeeds in thoroughly frightening him away from his fooleries. Box plans for the season are now at Ihe Bristol Piano Company.
