Demonstration concerts will be held to-night and to-morrow evening. . /. Commenting on the piano solp championship, the judge stated that he nad not ex-' ported such remarkably good performances. A more difficult piece lor the final test could, not have been chosen. The performance? of the two placed competitors were so close . that the task of selecting .the winner had been most difficult. He wished he could award the trophy to both. Special prizes—Highest aggregate marks. Highland dancing, Ashburton County—Mist Mavis Andiews; runner-up Miss Mona MQler. Highest aggregate, under 10, Ashburton County—lris John. At the Wellington Competitions to-d*;, Grace Nixon (Christchurch) was third in Section C of the Junior Test Becital, 14 and under 16, own selection. * Maricia Hunt (NBpier) was awarded third place in the Recitation in Character (huttiorous), girls 0 and under 12. The Piano Solo;' 12 and under 14, «h iron by Patricia Townshend (Christchurch). Joyce Haywrtrd (Feildlng) was placed second in Skipping Dance, over 16. Dorotliy Grose (Papanui) was placed third in Operatic Danee, 9 and under 1?, waltz time, and Jnne Scott (Palmerston North) was highly commended. , Nellie Dykes (Napier) was highly dimmended in Vocal. Solo, Negro Spiritual, ladles, own selection. Hiss Phyllis Myers (Levin) was highly commended .in <"Vne»l Solo and Accompaniment, lady vocalist, o.ton selection.
