YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS.

Recorded dealings on call yesterday were restricted to a few stocks, prices for which on the whole showed litilo variation. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, included:—

100 Comm. Bank of Aust. HO E., N., and A. Bank. 10 Union Bank of Aust. 200 N.Z. Insurance. 100 Goldsbrougb, Mcrt. 450 New Zealand Breweries. 300 British Tobacco (cum div.) 100 Dunlop Perdriau Rubber. 2900 Mahakipawa Goldfields.

Government issues were firm at recent levels. Commercial Bank of Australia shares were fractionally weaker with business at 19s 6d and further sellers afc that price, buyers at 19s sd. English, Scottish, and Australian Bank shares scored a rise of 2s at £5 l-ls 6d, closing quotes £5 14s buyers, £o 14s 9d sellers. Buyers of Bank of New Zealand shares raised their bids to 56s Gd without attracting sellers. Union Bank of Australia shares were firm at £lO 7s 6d, closing quotations Is on either side.

New Zealand Insurance shares hardened to dealings at 42s 6d, market closing 42s 4d buyers, 43s sellers. Unsupported sellers of Standard Insurance, cx dividend of Is 3d per share, wanted 58s 6d. Goldsbrough, Morts dropped to 22s lid, and more were offered at that figure, buyers at 22s od. Westport Coal Compauy shares were easier with sellers at 30s 3d, buyers at SSs 6d. New Zealand Breweries shares were fractionally weaker with dealings at 4Ss 9d and 48s 6d, market closing 48s 9d sellers, 48s 3d buyers. Unsupported sellers of Carltou Brewery shares reduced their limits to 26e, and Tooths also were weaker with sellers at 24s 9d, buyers at 2»s. British Tobaccos, cum quarterly dividend of 3 per cent., remained at 32s 4d, and there were further buyers at 32s 3d, sellers at 32s 6d.

Colonial Sugar shares appeared weaker with sellers at £32 10a, buyers at £3O. Dunlop Perdriau Rubber shares fell to 12s 3d, and more were ofiered at that figure, buyers at 12s 7d. Electrolytic Zinc preference shares showed slight recovery with buyers at 20t lOd, sellers at 21s 2d Mt. Lyells were easier on sellers' quotes 20s 9d, buyers at «20s sd. There was a close market for Wilson's Cement shares, which were quoted 39s 9d buyers. 40s sellers. Mahakipawa Goldfields snares were a shade firmer with dealings at 4a, and further buyers at that price, sellers at 4Jd. Jt»uyera of Waihia raised their bids to 14s 4d, sellers at 14s Gd.
