"THE THREE SISTERS." "The Three Sisters," the all-talking drama "which will open a ae&son at the Majo&tic Theatre this week, is characterised by marked originality in character delineation, in the arranging and the exploitation o£ dramatic events, and in the skilful and sympathetic juggling by the. author, which sees the lovely and spirited sistera safely harboured after their picturesque adventures in the world. Joyce Compton, June Collyer, and Addje McPhail are the three sisters, brought up in a small Italian town, brilliant young women with a voracious taste for adventure. Louiße Dresser, as the mother, is representative of a thousand paronts who launch their children on to the world and then run frantically aftet them to interfere in their lives. Kenneth McKenna, as the platonic iriend of the threo sisters, and later the lover of one, is an actor whom one never tires of watching and hoaring. "Tho Three Sisters" is original drama, a remarkably searching study of four women, their reactions, their ambitions, their loves and fears. Threo storieß in one, rang ing from gentle romance to tragic drama While Miss Dresser undoubtedly dominates many scenes, Mis 3 Joyce Compton and Miss June Collyer may not be overlooked: both give delightfully smooth performances. Those who quickly weary of the myßtery thriller, the drawing-room comedy, the outdoor action play, will welcome with open arms this family romance of modern Italy and America.
