HEATHCOTE NEWS.
i School Committee. The monthly meeting of the Heatheote Valley, School Committee was held on Tuesday. There were present Messrs N. G. Collins (chairman), W. Harvey (secretary.), B. Dickey, W. O'Neil, and V. Oolville (headmaster), Mesdames E. Wakefield and M. Morgan. An apology, was received- from Mr Carter on account of an illness. The headmaster reported on the attendance, and that to date the girls' basketball team had won all their "matches. The Cocoa Club which was recently formed was reported to be going ahead, and was well patronised. It was decided to obtain a gramophone for school use through .the Education Board. The children's fancy drees dance waa discussed, and it was decided to hold it at the end of September, which is later than usual. It was decided to join the School Committees' Association, and two delegates were appointed to attend the meetings. The secretary was directed to write to the Education Board asking for internal and external repairs to the school.
