FIGURES FOR LAST YEAR. [TBS PMiaS tfpeetsl ftrrfct.] WELLINGTON, July 17. Customs duties, other than duties on motor spirit and rubber tyres, collected at Dominion ports during the year ended March 31st, 1930, totalled £8,631,899 according to a report laid on the table of the House of Representatives to-day by the Prime Minis* ter, the Hon. G. W. Forbes. The total revenue collected by the Customs Department was £10,891,880. The cost of collection was £117,952, representing £1 Is per cent. Petrol taxation yielded £1,028,894, other important items being: £ Excise duties on beer ~ 680,312 On tobaeco, etc. .. 244,841 On spirits -• •• 20,806 Tyre tax •• •- 157,474 Gold duty .. •■ 10,264 Export levy on meat .. . 35,267 Dairy produce •• 34,686 Kauri gum .. ... 1,807 Honey .. •■• 586 Brewery supervision and hop beer license fees .. 1,428 Warehouse license fees .. 9,723.
