MOTOR TRAFFIC CONTROL.
ABOLITION OF SPEED LIMIT, NEW BRITISH SYSTEM. (B&msa omcui wihslkss./ (Received July 7th, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, July 5. fhe Houso of Commons has approved by a two to one majority, of the Government proposal to abolish the speed limit for motor-cars. It is proposed that when the decision takes effect a system of police patrols on motor-cycles and in cars will be established, the exist to be met out of grants from the road fund. Mr Herbert Alorr.son, Minister tor transport, said that the speed limit system had broken down, but that with its abolition efforts to prevent dangerous driving would have to be redoubled. The Government would publish "a highway code'' for the education, not only of motoriets, but of pedestrians, who were equally in need of it.
