THE PRIME MINISTER.
LYTTELTON TO HONOUR HIM. At last night's meeting of the Lyttolton Borough Council, the Mayor (Mr W. T. Foster) said he had consulted the Prime Minister (the Hon. 0. W. Forbes), who is a native of Lyttelton, regarding a public gathering to celebrate his attaining: the Prime Ministership. Mr Forbes had expressed a wish that it should take the form of a public social so that all the cittzens who wished could attend. The Mayor suggested that a corfunittee be set up in the near future to make arrangements. He said he would take steps to call a public meeting to set up the committee. The Mayor's proposal was approved.
