Rainfall to date .. .. 10.270 in 12.733 in Auckland—The weather was bright and sunny yesterday, with a light southerly wind. Wellington—The spell of dry weather m Wellington broke yesterday morning, when after a fog had enveloped the town for several hours a hoavy downpour occurred. The rain commenced about 1 a.m , but soon eased, and fairly light showers fell throughout the day. After nightfall the rain ceased completely, and by 10.30 p.m. the star® were shining. Twenty-five points of rain were recorded.
Dunodin—Following light, intermittent rain on Thursday night, the weather was dull and overcast yesterday, with a very light wind from the south-east. The maximum temperature was SI degrees. The jaromeUr is steady at 30.46.
Seas (New Zealand waters) —Smooth to moderate generally, but rising about Cook Strait. Tasman Sea —Freshening north-east to northerly winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea; seas moderate, but rising later in the northern portion. Weather—Dull In most parts, with much mist or fog; rain at first at scattered places along the East Coast, but gradually becoming general; temperatures mild in northern districts; elsewhere moderate.

Forscsst. General Situation—The anti-cyclone covering the New Zealand area is now centred near the Chatham Islands. There are indications of the development of a cyclone in the Tasman Sea. Winds—South-westerly to easterly, and later northerly winds, moderate generally, but freshening from Cook Strait northwards.
