Tho general committee of the Christchurch Citizens' and Ratepayers' Association decitkid last night to nominate Mr Archibald A- * McLachlan for the scat on the Christchurch City Council rendered vacant by the death of Or. F. 11. Cooke. The meeting, which,-was well attended,' was not -open to the Press, but a statement, issued-later, was to th« effect that the decision' had'' been unanimous.
