11 SEVERE EARTHQUAKE IN CALCUTTA. NO DAMAGE REPORTED. {UXITBD FBK«S A9SOCUTIOV—BT Etr.CTXIC WUOBAPB—COrmiOHT.J (Received July Srd, 10.55 p.m.) DELHI, July 3. At three o'clock this morning Calcutta was rocked by the most severe earthquake experienced in living memory. The tremor was direct north and south. Most of the solid blocks of residential flats swayed. The whole city sprang to life, lights being switched on, lifts going up and down and people getting into motor-cars and dashing out of the city, where many camped for the night. The streets were as noisy as after theatre-elosing on Saturday. By four o'clock in the morning all was quiet again.
CONTROL OP NEWS SHEETS NEW ORDINANCE ISSUED. (Received July Srd, 10.35 p.m.) DELHI, July 8. The Viceroy has promulgated yet another ordinance, this providing for the control of unauthorised news sheets on wbich the revolutionaries and seditionists are relying to an increasing extent, instead of the newspapers, to disseminate their seditious propaganda.
