LEVEL CROSSINGS.
TO - rHE EDITOB 0» TBI (BBSS. Sir,—We have heard a great deal after the recent fatality at Hornby about level crossings, and wanting lights and signals, but I had an experience to-night at one of our very worst level crossings, namely, Waltham road. A train was coming over the crossing, and the crossing-keeper eainc on to the crossing bearing a green ligh which it was difficult to see at a dis tanco of 100 yards; in fact I could no see it at all, until he turned round an< shone it square on to me. It is high tim that the Railway Department woke n and got decent electric lamps for al crossing-keepers, and gave them whit coats to wear at night, and put aa at tomatic gate at all dangerous crossing —Yours, etc., SAFETY ITEBT.
