Piga being in short supply made good prices. * There was an entry of 1900 fat sheep <a mixed quality, comprising a small proportion of big crossbred wethers and a good supply of medium to good ewes. There was as irregular sale, which opened . fairly satisfactorily, but a noticeable easing took plaoe, with a result that heavy wethers were cheaper by from Is 6d to 3s per head and heavy ewes by from 2s to Bs, In respect to other sorts there was little change. A few odd extra heavy wethers made to 455, prime light crossbred wethers to 375, and prime from 37s to 31a. Ewes mads from. 13s 6d to 24s 6d according to quality and finish. The percentage of good young ewes was very much smaller this week than - wsa the case last week. About 500 fa* lambs were forward, the entry including some well-grown consignments and a good few indifferent sorts. There was a good sale, and all freezing lambs brought values equal to last week's rates. Light prime, of which tshere were few, made 7Jd per lb, extra heavy sorts were worth to 29b 4d, good primes from 24s to 265, and prime from 32s to 235. Tha fat cattle entry numbered about 840 head, comprising a fair number of prima bullocks and a few turnip cattle. There was a good percentage of well-finished heifers ana cows, the balance being made np of fair to good steers. The sale was fairly even throughout, with prices generally equivalent to those of last week. Extra prime bullocks made op to £2O 2s 6d, prime £ls to £l7, medium £l2 10b to £l4, and light from £3 10s. Prime oows and heifers made np to £l2 17s fid, medium £lO to £ll 10s. and light from £8 10s. Store cattlo were forward is good numbers, about 200 being yarded. There were a good few fair to medium steers, with a balance of mixed cows and good young cattle. There was a good enquiry for quality, three to four-year-old bullooku making from £8 to £ll and good-oonditioned cons from £8 to £l2. There were 81 fat pin and 87 stows, the smaller entry having the effect of creating a very keen demand. Baconers *nd porkers qtade a full lOd per lb and better. i
