Messrs Paynter and Hamilton are building a shop and dwelling in Colombo street for Dr. Farr. Mr J. Reid has' taken out a permit lor alterations and additions to the Church of the Assemblies of God in Aevv Zealand, Colombo street. Twenty-sis dwellings, costing £'17,895, and other new buildings, to ihe total value of £18,845, were authorised for erection by the City Council last month. Alterations and additions to dwellings (£l7yo), accounted for 27 permits, and to other buildings for an expenditure of £SIOO. It is understood that Moore's tearoom premises are to bo demolished for the purpose of the erection of a modern restaurant, with cabnret on the upper floor.
