The death has occurred suddenly of Mr George Washington Lambert, the most distinguished of .Australian artists. fMr. Lambert was. born, at Petrograd and was brought to Sydney in. his boyhood. Winning tbo Travelling Schol-avahip-of the Society' of-Arbists-at -Sydney in 1909 he proceeded to Paris and afterwards spent majiy years: in London.
