0»OK OOS OWW COBmisPOHDBKT.) LONDON, April 24. On her fourth birthday on Monday Princess Elizabeth; received from her father, the Duke of York, the present of a Shetland pony. The day at Windsor Castle was a memorable one. Many thousands of holidaymakers visited-the castle.

The chief attraction was the changing of the guard by the Scots Guards in the Grand Quadrangle during Lhe morn mg, when the regimental band played. Princess Elizabeth was in the Quadrangle with Princess Mary, Countess of Harewood, and her two sons, Viscount Lascelles, and the Hon. Gerald Las celles, during the whole of the ceremony, and so great was the crush of holiday-makers to see.the little Princess that the entrance gates of St. George's and the Norman Gateway on the other side of the quadrangle had to be closed. Princess Elizabeth, who had been lifted out of her perambulator by her nurse, waved her hand to the cro^wd. After the ceremony the Princess invited her father and mother and other members of the. Royal Family, includ the King and Queen, to see her first pony ride at Windsor. It took place in the Royal Riding School, where the Princess was put on her new shaggy pony. She returned to the Castle holding Lord Lascelles and the Hon. Gerald Lascelles by the hands.
