WAIREWA. The monthly meeting of the Wairewa Oounty Council w»8 held, when there vera present: Cm. W. J l . Parkinson (chairman), J. O. Coop, J. Bmith, T. Feather, P. Coop, and D. P. Foley. The eounty engineer (Mr W. K. Leeder) reported in uetau on wore'done during the month, and on work requiring to be done. it was decided to procure uietal tor ondge upproacues on the main road. Or, i\ Coop moved that it be left to the chairman and engineer to have the road l.ne altered on iiaituna Valley road and piaced in the proper position. —Carried. The clerk said he hoped to have the balance-sheet completed before next meeting. The ranger's report was read and adopted. Mr W. U. Gray wrote stilting that Mr Whitter would contribute £4O towards the bridges at Price's Valley. The chairman said they had asked Mr Whitter to contribute £SO. Cr. J. 0. Coop said he had spoken to Mr Langbein, and he thought Govern* tnent assistance could be obtained tor these bridges. The chairman said the bridges had cost £6OO. Cr. 1. O. Coop moved that Mr Whitter be asked to contribute £6o.—Carried. The B.P. A. and P. Association wrote forwarding £IOO for investment with the Council. Or. J. O. Coop moved the clerk be authorised to issue, licenses to motorists on behalf of the Council.—Carried. The Cancer Campaign Committee wrote asking how the fnnd was progressing. The chairman said that abont £3O was in hand, and it was expected that the canvass would produce £SO. The Public Works pepartment wrote asking the Oevaetl to make application Ht re*4 suaA
