Tho charge against Hugh Eugene Ftsclier of stealing the cutter Maroro, which was wrecked on the Samoan coast, was withdrawn to-day, Fischer was arrested in Dunedin on April 21st on arrival with his tamily by the Maui Pomare from' the Islands. lie bad been remanded several times since and was granted bail. The prosecution was a private one, iuitiated by the owner of the Maroro.
