Good painters are in demand in Ohristchurch at the present time, and an optimistic note prevails in both the oil and colour and glass trades. Among tho building permits issued by the Christchurch City Council since May Ist is one to Messrs P. Graham and Son for reconstruction work on Strange's old building in High street.
