W.E.A. ACTIVITIES.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
The annual Dominion conference of the W.E.A. will be held in Wellington, on Saturday. The Christchurcb delegates will be Messrs C .R. N. Mackie and P. E. O'Flynn. The president of the W.E.A., Mr H. D. Acland. is at present in Wellington, and the secretary, Mr George Manning, went north last night A deputation, consisting of all the members of conference, will wait on the Minister for Education (Hon. H. Atmore) at 11 a.m. oh Saturday. Applications in respect of the W.E.A. trip to Mount Cook, starting on May 3(>th, have been received to the number of 28. The trip is not restricted to W.E.A. students: friends of students also can take advantage of the concessions
The popular public lecture under the auspices of the W.E.A. on Saturday night will be given by Mrs T. E. Taylor, who is to speak on "Organisation of Industry in China." Mrs Taylor Will deal with the protection of women and chiidren in Chinese factories at the present t'ime.
