SOME GOOD BAGS.

Sportsmen at Lake EUesmere were disappointed with conditions. on Thursday until about 3.30 in the afternoon, when a light sou'-wester sprang up. Prior to that hour it was practically impossible to get a shot, but from then onwards good bags were obtained, those who had remain**! at the lake being well satisfied with the results. Full bags were obtained bv Messrs Ivor and Eric Gray and W. R. Hammond at Kaituna, while at Ellesmere Messrs H. E. Garth and a friend got between theia 34 birds, and Messrs C. J Newell an<J D McGregor 00. A good number who went out to the lake on the opening day of the season (Thursday) are still there, it being .their intention to remain over the week-end.
