METHVEN STOCK SALE. The uaual fortnightly atock aale was held in the Methven saleyards on Thursday. The yarding of fat sheep showed a considerable in. crease over those of many sales past, and the quality of the entriea waa good, especially for the time of the year. Buyers were operating right op to sehedule rates.' Top price for lambs waa 22b fid for a line of 74 sold by Messra Dalgety and Co., Ltd., 011 account of Mr W. Tizzard (Barrhill), Several other good linea made from 21a Id to 21a lOd. The store sheep offering comprised mostly cull linea of all classes of sheep, mostly ewes. The prices were in keeping with the quality, but there la still a moderate demand< for younger owes of good quality and open woolled. There waa only a small offering of cattle, while piga were in much shorter supply, only 25 being penned- These met with good competition at prices in advance of the aale of two weeks ago.
