Y.M.C.A. CAMPAIGN.
£BSO RAISED.
At yesterday's luncheon of workers in the Y.M.C.A. campaign, it was announced that up to date the sum of £BSO had been raised. All the collectors stated that they had met with most sympathetic responses everywhere and that they were sure that a very largo sum could be raised if there wore time to approach everyone. Mr S. W. Jameson stressed the point that £BOOO was the absolute minimum required, and that even with that amount raised there would still be a substantial overdraft at the end of the two years. Mr J. W. Hillary, the president, nrged that it be made clear that everyone was asked to subscribe, and that it was somewhat disappointing that so few subscriptions had come through the post. The Y.M.C.A. was a community organisation, and it was the privilege of all to help. The general secretary reported that hj« had received several donations from the parents of boys who had been helped by the Y.M.C.A. It was decided to continue daily lunches during the next week. "Let us keep on till we finish" seemed to be the general wish. Such a spirit of keenness augurs well for the success of the campaign. Tho amount raised to date represents only 164 individual contributions, so there are very many citizens yet to subscribe.
