FREEZING TROUBLE.
A TIMARU RESOLUTION. (wkcul to vbm man.) TIMAfttJ, May 1 Tb» Timara and St. Andrew* Branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union passed the following resolution at the twenty-first annual meeting held today:— "Owing to the recent unsatisfactory position that hat arisen at the freezing works throughout Canterbury and Otago, we ask the executive to forward a request to the Dominion executive that a conference be called by them of all parties affected to meet the companies with a view to a prevention of a recurrence."
The resolution Was moved by the chairman of the Titnafu branch, Mr P. R. Talbot, who said that the present (renditions eonld not continue, and it was high time to take a stand. The farmers had to pay the piper. In some cases stock had to be held up* wards of three weekß, and prices had fallen. Farmers were compelled to hold their stock or to sell at a sacrifice. Mr A. Ward, president of the St. Andrews branch, seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously.
