CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The lortnlghtly social of the Canterbury Caledonian Society was held at the Caledonian Hall on Wednesday evening. The hall was well filled with members and friends. In the absence of the president, Mr Geo. Sey, vice-president, occupied the chair, and was supported- by Mr W. Kdginton,' vice-president, and Messrs J. T. Caldow and B. Moore, directors. Daring -the evening eight new members were admitted. The programme for the - evening " was ' arranged by Messrs W. Edglnton and B. Moore, two directors of the < Society. The folowing contributed Items:—Selections by. the Society's Pipe Band, under Pipe-Major Gibson. Vocal items Mr E. Sogers, Mrs W. Ledsham, Miss S. Down, Miss E. Eraser, Miss'L. Mills, Mr N. Down; Highland fling, . Miss Joyce Praser; instrumental trio. Miss E. Moody and party; recitation, Mrs E. McLeod; Seann Triubhaiß, Miss Betty Carnochan; piping selection. Piper J. Campbell; recitation, Mr T. Cumings; banjo selection, Mr W. East; sword dance. Miss J. Sutherland; Highland reel, Misses B. Kearney, J. Sutherland, J. Traser, and V. Wilson. ' Accompanists for the evening were Mr G.'C. Russell and Miss Packer. After the concert dancing was indulged in to the music ■of Mr E. Jackson's Orchestra.
