"KNUTS IN MAY."

CANTERBURY COLLEGE REVUE. Next week is carnival week at Canterbury Colloge, ushered in by the students' procession on Tuesday, and maintained during the week by the annual revue and extravaganza at the Oivic Theatre. The revue, which is called "Knuts in May," promises to be one of the brightest amateur shows seen on the stage for many - years. The glut of talkies in tfie entertainment market during this year has deprived Christchurch people of the- pleasure of seeing any musical comedy' or vaudeville, and in consequence the students' revue will prove an even greater boon than before to those who enjoy a production such as "Knuts in May," one' comprised of choruses, ballets, farces, solos, local skits, etc., and the whole .enlivened *y that 'Varsity spirit which would ensure tho success of any show. There are two main farces, one woven around an old Chinese legend, with its dragons and' evil spirits, its idols and idol worshippers, and the other a 100 per cent, mirth-provoking skit on the talkies. In - addition, there is an exceedingly humorous piece touching upon Council affairs, municipal and otherwise; two bright interludes and a .ballet' by the - Women' b Club. A feature of this year's revue is the reappearance of tho famous College Growers, whose excellent rendering of songs has been so much appreciated in the past. Owing to the success of previous productions, it has been decided to extend thia season to four nights, beginning at the Civic Theatre on Tuesday, May 6th. Box plans are now. open at The Bristol.
