FARMERS' TOUR.

WIDE ITINERARY. CANTERBURY MEMBERS. Of the 100 people, New Zealand farmers, their wives, and families who are making the tour of Great Britain and j Europe, arranged by Thomas Cook and Son, tho six who have been enlisted ; through the company's Christchurch , office, left for the north last evening, to join the Ulimaroa for Sydney. They , are: Messrs T. J. Hillicr, G. H. Judd (Darfield), C. A. Eidgen (Greendale), 11. W. Adams (Greendale), and Mr and Mrs Arthur Frascr. At Sydney they will embark on the Ormonde for the voyage to England. North Island farmers are well in the majority, about 40 coming each from Wellington and Auckland, besides others from Hawke's Bay and Taranaki. The numbers from Dunedin are small, but larger than those from Christchurch. There are still vacancies for any who could sail by the lonic on May 10th, joining the party in London, or leave Wellington by the Maunganui on May 9th, connecting with the Ormonde at Adelaide. Some members of the party have already lett Auckland for England. A Comprehensive Tour. The tour will be similar to that organised in 1928, by the same firm, for farmers from all parts of the Empire. Occupying 10 weeks, it has been arranged to cover the principal agricultural districts of Great Britain and Ireland, and will include visits to dairy farms, pedigree herds, agricultural shows, markets, storage plants, colleges, and other places of agricultural interest. The co-operation and assistance of the British Dairy Farmers and kindred associations will be enlisted. Leaving New Zealand on May 10th, the party arrives in London on June 19th. The tour begins on June 20th through England, Scotland, and Ireland. On July 30th, they return to London, having a week before their departure for Europe where they tour until September 4th. The European tour includes visits to the Channel Islands, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Heidelberg, Brussels, Cologne, The Hague, Bremen, Hamburg, and Copenhagen. They will leave on, .their return . from . London about September sth. Membership of the party is exclusively limited - to New Zealand people in agricultural and pastoral pursuits, their wives, and families. The inclusive fare for the whole trip is £250 each. It is hoped that if the tour is successful, it will be repeated every two years. .
