LYTTELTON NEWS.
A Dry Spell. The many amateur gardeners in the port are complaining of the continued dry spell. Practically no rain has fallen, for over a month, and everywhere the ground has a very parched appearance. This has caused inroads to be made to a considerable extent in the water supply, but so far the supply has proved adequate. Miniature Bine Club. The Lyttelton Miniature Rifle Club has made- a good commencement for the season, three practices being held last week. All were well attended, and there has also been a good increase in membership. The club's new range is >well appointed, and the improvements •in this respect are much appreciated by the members. The club's first matches will be against Heathcote and against the Christehurch Working Men's dub.
