Employers in the woollen industry have announced their intention to post notices of reductions in wages in accordance with Lord Macmillan's report. [Lord Macmillan, after an enquiry into the northern wool textile industry, recommended a reduction in wages, on the ground that the industry was so dangerously depressed that sacrifices in wages were essential. The union secretary, Mr Shaw, stated that male workers Would suffer a weekly reduction of 5s Id, females 3s, and pieceworkers 3s Bd.
