SHIPPING NOTES. Two overseas vessels arrived at Lyttelton yesterday, and one sailed. Two more are due to-day and two to-morrow. These will keep the port fairly busy' until about Monday. The Foxton, which has been bar-bound at Foxton by westerly gales, is now duo to-day to load for Foxton. The Katoa, which was due to-day from Picton, will not now come to Lyttelton. The Cygnet is timed to mil to-night with eargo for Kaifeonm amd Wellington

The Matakana arrived-, yesterday morning from Wellington. After loading she sailed for Port Chalmers. She is to Bail from the last-named port on Monday for London ana W«st of England ports. The Kaitoa is due to-morrow from Nelson and Motueka, and is to sail in the afternoon for the same ports, taking cargo to the agency of Kinsey and Co., Ltd. The Himatangi is due at Lyttelton on Sunday from Wellington, and is to load on Monday for Wellington and Wanganui. The Karepo should arrive here on Tuesday from Auckland and Wellington, and is to sail in tho evening for Dunedin and Timaru.

The Kaimiro is due at Lyttelton on Sunday from Auckland and Picton. She loads here on Monday for Auckland, and is to sail via Wellington. The Waikouaiti is now expected on Thursday from Port Kembla and Sydney, via Dunedin. She sails later for Wellington. The Kurow, which was due to-morrow from Auckland and Wellington, will not call at Lyttelton. The Remuera was an arrival yesterday from Timaru to continue loading. It is hoped to dispatch her to-night for Wellington for final loading. She is to leave Wellington on Tuesday for Southampton and London. The Storm should arrive oa Sunday from the north. She loads on Monday for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. The Opawa is an expected arrival on Sunday from Blenheim. She is to sail on Monday afternoon on the return trip. The Kuku sailed yesterday for Wellington, and is due' back on Sunday. She is to be dispatched on Monday night for Wellington direct. The John should arrive to-morrow from Dargaville. The Holmdale is expected on Tuesday from Dunedin and Timaru, and loads here for Wellington and Wanganui. Tho Calm is timed to load here on Tuesday for Wellington and Wanganui. The Breeze should arrive here on Thursday from the south to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Maheno is next due at Lyttelton on April 10th from Melbourne via Bluff and Runedin. She is to sail the same day for Wellington, Bluff, and Melbourne. The Waipiata should arrive here on Tuesday from Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru to load for Auckland. The Middlesex is due here to-morrow from Bluff to load for London and Continental ports. She proceeds from this port to Wellington and Napier, and is'to sail finally from Napier on April Bth for Rotterdam, Hamburg, and London, via Panama and Curacao.

The Shaw, Savill motor-ship Zealandic is due here to-day from Port Chalmers to discharge London cargo. She is to sail on 'Monday for Timaru, and will later load at Nelson, Wellington, Lyttelton (April 16th-19th), and Port Chalmers. She is to leave Port Chalmers on April 24th for London and Hull, via Panama. The Corinthic Bhould arrive here on Wednesday from Timaru for further loading. She is to sail about Friday next for Wellington for final loading, and is timed to sail from Wellington on April 9th for Southampton and London, via Panama. The Canadian Explorer is due at Lyttelton to-day from Bluff to load. She ia to sail to-morrow for Wellington ,apd Auckland, and is to sail finally from Auckland on Thursday for New York, Boston, and Halifax, via Panama. The Tasmania is duo to arrive at Auckland at midnight to-night from Liverpool. She is to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Federal liner Hertford is expected to arrive at Lyttelton to-day from Wellington to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. Captain P. O. Mills, of the Pakura, and Captain C. M. Caldicutt, of the Parera, have exchanged vessels at Wellington. Mr P. McOallum is second mate on the Pakura, replacing Mr J. Henderson. Mr W. A. Pimm is at present .chief mate on the Nikau. ... . . Captain H. M. Starling is in command of the motor-ship Westmoor, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday with basic slag from Ghent, and his officers are:—Chief, Mr F. B. Lamb: second, Mr N. The marine superintendent of the Umon Company of New Zealand -at Sydney since 1914, Captain H. A. Morrisby, retired recently. He has been connected with the Union Company for many years, and his last command was the Niagara. Ho attained his master mariner's certificate at the age of 28, and commanded numerous vessels oi the Union Line. . . Mr P. Morrison has joined the Poolta as chief engineer, relieving Mr H. J. Knewstubb for holiday leave.

jjr H. Pike has rejoined the Tofua as second engineer, after holiday leave. Kr R F Barrett is relieving Mr G. Haast as engineer of the Natone, the latter being on holiday leave. News has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Sydney left London in ballast on March 22nd for Lyttelton, where she is due on May 3rd. A message from the Buapehu, en route from Antwerp, states that she expects to arrive at Auckland at noon on Monday. The C. and D. Line advise that the steamer (juercus will now replace the Cedrus to load at New York towards the end of April for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. News has been received by the union Company that the Kalingo from Sydney and Newcastle left Port Stephens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday for Auckland, New Plymouth, Wanganul, Pk*om, and OwjrmoMH.

With bulk motor spirit for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, the Vacuum Oil Company s tanker Plums left San Frauoisco on ilarch 11th. She is due at Auckland on April 3rd. The Federal Company report that the Cumberland, which is fixed to leave Liverpool on June 7th for New Zealand, will include Napier. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that their motor-ship Itangitiki arrived ot Auckland on Monday from Wellington, to complete discharge and to commence loading for London. She will subsequently load at Tokomaru Bay, Napier, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and is fixed to sail finally from Wellington on April 2Gth for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal.
