DRUNKEN TAXI-DRIVER.
ONE MONTH'S IMPRISONMENT. Owxas fssocuTroM AUCKLAND, March 27. William Malcolm, aged 29, taxi-driver, was to-day sent to gaol for one month, for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of his car in Upper Queen street on Sunday morning last. "Here is a taxi-driver who was drunk, and who has been twice before the Court/' said Mr P. K. Hunt, S.M. "Probation is out of the question. He is sentenced to one month's imprisonment, and I direct that no license to drive a car bo issued to him for three years. He is fortunate that I do not make the sentence three months' imprisonment."
