£741 DAMAGES.
MAN CRUSHED BY ROLLER. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 27. Deciding against the suggestion that Richard Morris had committed suicide by throwing himself under a steam roller, the Arbitration Court_ to-day awarded Morris's widow £741, tho full amount claimed, as compensation from the Uawcra County Council, by ■whom Morris was employed. Morris was crushed by a roller while 'working on the road. Evidence was to the effect that he suffered ill-health and was subject to dizzy turns. The driver of the roller said he seemed to throw himself under the roller deliberately, but other evidence was that Morris had shown 110 suicidal tendencies.
