10 THE EDITOR OF THE PBESS ' Sir,—Recent letters on the Constitution have made me wonder if any of jour readers can give me the reference to,some famous man's statement to the .effect that the most fluent and eoßlprehensive precis of the right way f&gorem the greatest Empire the lsrJd has seen would undoubtedly be pr>mulgated by the most bankrupt and unsuccessful small storekeepers in the unallest village in the said Empire. Of-course, the Socialists would probgtiy think I am oven a greater fool than Mr Baldwin is for admitting that he>must have some ability to have risen ihe position he has occupied; but Jtave noticed, with him, that "I have tifeer yet known a good workman who <pold talk, and I have never known a jjjod talker who was a good workftaa." If I had my business or my ijltf-savings to be managed, I would •$a£ r some very serious thought and enIfiiity into the character and person•lrtJ of thp person to whom I trusted UH5h;~ management: but the funny part to-day is that, with universal suffrage, all that is wanted to (tovern us all is a glib tongue and the un-Christian and spurious trick' of Itirring up a bit of class feeling.— ITonrs, etc .
